Skilled engineering cover, in place fast, engaged the simple way

Temporary and fixed-term recruitment isn't about filling a shift. It's about covering a genuine capacity gap - sickness, a project with a defined end date, a role that needs filling now, with no long-term commitment on either side.

EMT Talent places temporary (temp) and fixed-term technical and skilled production professionals for engineering SMEs and project-led businesses.

Looking for a permanent hire or a specialist contractor

Based in Sheffield, working with engineering businesses across the UK

EMT Talent works with engineering businesses across the UK. Wherever your business is based, every search gets the same direct, owner-led approach - there's no different tier of service depending on your location.

We're based in Sheffield, and South Yorkshire is where our candidate network runs deepest. But it's not the only region we know first-hand: for a number of years we worked with clients across the West Midlands, covering the likes of Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton and Daventry.

During that time, we relocated to live in Coventry ourselves. Wherever you're hiring, the process, the access and the attention are exactly the same.

Our regional candidate depth is particularly strong across:

South Yorkshire - Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Worksop
West Yorkshire - Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Bradford, Halifax
Derbyshire & East Midlands - Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield, Lincoln, Leicester
West Midlands - Coventry, Birmingham, Northampton, Daventry

And UK-wide beyond that, wherever specialist skilled talent is required.

What makes this different

This isn't general labour or warehouse-style temping. Every person we place already has the trade or technical skill the role needs - the reason to use temporary or fixed-term recruitment is the nature of the gap, not the level of the role.

Two situations come up most often:

Covering an absence. A buyer, planner, or quality manager goes on long-term sick, and the business needs someone competent in place while that's resolved - not indefinitely, but for as long as it takes.

A defined project window. A continuous improvement engineer or CAD Technician is needed for the length of a specific project - six months, for example - where there's a clear end point and no expectation of a permanent role afterwards.

Either way, you're not committing long-term, and you're not compromising on skill level to get cover quickly.

How it works

We payroll the candidate directly - there's no umbrella company or limited company arrangement to manage. It's straightforward for you and straightforward for them:

  • We find & employ the worker and run weekly payroll on your behalf
  • You approve a weekly timesheet confirming hours, and that's what drives pay
  • All legal checks are carried out before anyone starts, including right to work checks (RTW)
  • We handle the admin so you can focus on the work getting done

Every search is handled directly by the owner - no handoffs between researchers and consultants.

Do you carry out right to work and other legal checks?

Yes - all legal checks, including right to work checks, are carried out before anyone starts.

Can you offer temporary to permanent recruitment?
